The Trinity House venue embodies the adapted venue; that is, the venue whose primary or original purpose has been converted to allow it to perform another function - as a location for conferences or corporate events. Trinity House was originally and is still the headquarters of the General Lighthouse Authority. The Authority is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the lighthouses used around Britain and Ireland’s coasts.

The Trinity House is still used by the Authority. Historically, there have been more than one; there have been Trinity Houses all over the country used for the same purpose but the one in London, built in 1796, has been the headquarters of the Corporation ever since its unveiling.

Trinity House venue

As a venue, the Trinity House is able to host a number of different event types and sizes, thanks to its various rooms. Rooms may be used as a standalone event venue or as part of a larger event combining the use of different parts of the building. Furnishings and artwork surrounding the client’s guests are of a maritime theme, as befits the original and continued purposes of the building.

The Trinity House venue is comprised of five state rooms, which command views over the secluded central London backwater of Trinity Square and beyond, the Tower of London and the Thames. The venue has performed event service for a number of different event styles including weddings, banquets and board meetings.

Smaller rooms and medium sized rooms are commonly used to host standalone lunches or exclusive events. Larger spaces may be combined with the smaller ones to create an overall complex of areas for use at a larger event, such as, a wedding. The Trinity House even features a “Quarterdeck”, a gallery often used to accommodate musicians for events where entertainment or background music is required.

Trinity House is just one of a number of central London buildings whose design and stated use are adapted to provide event and meeting spaces for clients. As such, it belongs to a group of venues whose personality and surroundings become part of the service they provide to the end user.

Summary

The Trinity House venue is still the Corporation seat of the Charitable Guild of Mariners. It is also a multifaceted event venue.
